Next week, Middletown voters will have the opportunity to vote on continuing the income tax supposedly to fund police and fire.

The tax vote is a scam. The tax money does not go to police and fire. The city simply reduces the other funding for police and fire that comes from the City's general fund.

Do not be fooled. The city must fix the minimum percentage of the general fund that goes to police and fire and then ask for a renewal of the tax levy.
