MPHA Goal:
Middletown Public Housing Agency Meeting Minutes
March 16, 2010 Mr. Adkins added there was additional clarity needed on Item 5.2 of the Plan that states the Board’s goals and objectives are to expand the supply of assisted housing. In the second full sentence of that item, it talks about expanding the supply of assisted housing. Mr. Mulligan read the sentence from the Plan that stated the goal is to expand the supply of existing housing and housing choices. Ms. Joseph said the goal is not to increase the vouchers but they are hoping to get additional landlords in the program to offer additional housing choices. They are hoping to have housing choices in deconcentrated areas and be housed all throughout Middletown. |

Looking back at 2-09 and the Section 8 waiting list. 58 people were removed from the waiting list as not qualified. 74% of them for Drug/Criminal related matters.............hmmmmm, pretty high percent, wonder if any get through.

Mr. Adkins- what is the reason for the ramping up of housing for low income? Who is pushing this and who is approving the push? City leaders told us earlier that there would be a decrease in this program. It appears that we have been lied too as to the correct number of Section 8. It is suppose to be around 600 or so for the population of this town. The Board was suppose to make the decrease happen. A response for the benefit of the people in this town would be appropriate.
