FY 2011 Section 8 Tenant-Based Rental Assistance

The Obama administration’s FY 2011 budget proposes a total of $17.31 billion for Section 8 tenant based Housing Assistance Payments (renewal funding) for FY 2011, up from $16.34 billion for FY 2010.  The budget also requests $1.741 billion to fund public housing agencies’ ongoing administrative fees, up from $1.525 billion for FY 2010.  How (if at all) will Obama's requested funding increases impact the 1662 current Section 8 rent subsidized units in Middletown??

With Ann Mort now off of the visitors' bureau I suggest the new President adopt a new marketing slogan: "MIddletown, come for the Section 8, stay for the fun!"

I'm speculating of course but with that kind of money at stake and ready to be handed out I would think the number in Middeltown may actually GROW. It's hard to imagine the slum lords or the city turning down that kind of money.

Hot Dog!!!! More fed Section 8 slumtown money for the Middletown leaders to go after!!!! They're a lickin' their chops as they read this story. Thank goodness they have an even greater opportunity to make our town all that it can be and to insure that we keep our place and reputation as the number one ghetto, low income, HUDslum in SW Ohio- heck- ALL of Ohio! Obama- keep the dam poverty promoting program money in Washington. Send no Section 8 money here. We need to starve this beast and kill it- not build upon it.
