Our deer attractants include corn, salt blocks, lucky buck, trophy rock, and several different kind of deer cane, just to mention a few. As for a scope and silencer, you might want to try Roberson's or Thompson's out here in Madison.

Urban Thickets, got a question.
I have ornamental grass planted around the house. Description is thin green with some white stripping running the length of the leaf. Growth height at this time- ~ foot tall. Spreads. Should I trim this down to a shorter length for winter or leave alone? Getting ready to trim the hostas to ground level. Thank you for any advice. |

Vet,
We cut ours down to about an 1/2" or so every year. It growns back beautifully. Ours is about 3' tall now. Pacman ![]() |

We tend to leave grasses stand until spring. This provides some winter interest, especially with snow on them. It becomes a personal preference. When you do cut them back, you should cut them to the ground (or a few inches from the ground).

You can start trimming now. Just trim not uproot. If you can not do it right hire a gardener for a month and learn from him at the same time invest in springer scissor and garden soil. maybe some fertilizer organic Happy gardening..
