Urban Thickets is a full service landscape company and garden center located in Poasttown in the old Score Chrysler Dodge building on Route 4. Our landscape division offers design, installation, and maintenance. We mow grass, mulch, weed, prune, provide leaf removal and snow removal. We also do paver and wall installation. Urban Thickets, got a question.

I have ornamental grass planted around the house. Description is thin green with some white stripping running the length of the leaf. Growth height at this time- ~ foot tall. Spreads. Should I trim this down to a shorter length for winter or leave alone? Getting ready to trim the hostas to ground level. Thank you for any advice.

We tend to leave grasses stand until spring. This provides some winter interest, especially with snow on them. It becomes a personal preference. When you do cut them back, you should cut them to the ground (or a few inches from the ground).
