If you are a budding Broadway star, or just enjoy hamming it up, if you’d like to try out for your school show this fall, or simply want to be more comfortable in your own skin, if you want to explore the stage for the first time, or are a dancer or singer but don’t know the skills involved with acting, THIS CLASS is a great way to begin, or to learn some new skills! You will leave this class with great familiarity of the terms and words used by directors when rehearsing a show, you will be familiar with the technique of reading a script “cold” at an audition, will be able to relax your butterflies and take center stage with confidence, and will have fun in a professional but laid back atmosphere, in which the class will create an original performance piece to be performed for friends and family. Ages 14 - 18. Meets 4 Mondays: July 20, 27, Aug 3, 10, from 9 -- 11:30 am.

SO YOU WANNA DANCE? This amazing class will concentrate on a different Broadway style/show each of the 4 meetings! You do NOT have to be an expert to come and learn with us. This class is the perfect way to sample or brush up on different styles of dance. Perhaps you’re just starting, or perhaps you’d like to polish your moves with the expertise and patience of a professional choreographer and dancer. Fun will be your dance partner as you get moving with classic choreography and coaching to some of the best known Broadway shows. Sneakers or jazz shoes. Ages 14 - Adult! Meets 4 Tuesdays: July 14, 21, 28, Aug 4, from 6 -- 8:30 pm.

This class is a quick but in-depth study of the process of selecting, memorizing, rehearsing and preparing an audition monologue for the theatre. Though your ultimate outcome will be one, audition-ready monologue, study includes a how-to for the actor in character development, making truthful physical, vocal and acting choices, tapping into the clues within the speech’s text to give you direction, why reading the whole script is CRUCIAL, and how to present yourself at auditions, including introductions, headshots, and resumes. We will also cover the difference between auditioning for Stage vs. Screen, and how to use the Cold Reading Audition to your benefit. You may use this monologue study to learn to act, or to brush up on your skills. Ages 18-Adult of any skill level. Meets 4 Mondays: July 20, 27, and August 3, 10, from 6:30 – 9 pm.
