Was watching channel 5,9 and 12 on their severe weather coverage yesterday afternoon. Most all of us had severe storm warnings posted and some in Indiana had possible tornado touchdowns around Milan. This city has a siren warning network that they test each Wednesday for proper operation. Were the sirens installed for just tornado warnings or should they also be sounding for approaching severe storms? The Cincinnati station field personnel were reporting that there were sirens for severe weather going off in different communities like Avondale. Did we spend city money on a warning system that we never use except to test it out on Wednesdays and if so, why?
