Journal article....
District alone in funding increase Middletown will collect about $600K more in 2-year state budget MIDDLETOWN — Very few schools won out in terms of funding over the next two years, but the most recent state-level data shows Middletown schools coming out of the biennium stronger than any other district in Butler County. Middletown is the lone district to see a funding increase in the next two years — following some property tax reimbursements declining in value and the loss of federal stimulus money — compared to the amount received in 2011 Long said payroll and benefits cost Middletown about $5 million per month. IS THIS NUMBER CORRECT? 5 Mil PER MONTH? FOR HOW MANY EMPLOYEES? AT A PREMIUM RATE PER EMPLOYEE OF WHAT? WITH A TYPICAL SALARY BEING???? DOES THIS SEEM A LITTLE HIGH TO ANY OF YOU? The district did not believe it was appropriate to ask voters for new money, so a levy was ruled out and cuts were the only option, according to Rasmussen. A WISE MOVE ON YOUR PART RASMUSSEN. “As our industrial base quit paying some of those tangible taxes and as the real estate values took a hit, our local revenue shares were going down,” he said. “We needed to right-size.” WHAT INDUSTRIAL BASE THAT IS LEFT THAT IS. THANK THE CITY LEADERS OF THE PAST AND THE CURRENT CROP FOR PLACING YOU IN THE SITUATION OF NOT HAVING REVENUE FROM COMPANY TAXES/RESIDENT PROPERTY TAXES AND THE ABYSMAL JOB MARKET/REAL ESTATE CLIMATE HERE IN TOWN. THEY HAVE MADE THIS TOWN SO UNATTRACTIVE TO BOTH POTENTIAL RESIDENTS AND TO COMPANIES, THAT EVERYONE IS SUFFERING INCLUDING YOUR SCHOOL DISTRICT. THEY'VE MADE NO EFFORT TO ENTICE EMPLOYERS TO THIS TOWN AND HAVE ADDED INSULT TO INJURY WITH THEIR DISGUSTING BUSINESS TACTICS AND THEIR DECISION TO TURN THIS TOWN INTO A GHETTO WITH THEIR FRIKKIN' SECTION 8. |

That's not very much money. Well at least Kelley Thorpe, your new treasurer won't have to deal with declining revenues like she would have at Monroe. |
