I attended last night’s protest and the State of the City. I spoke to the city manager and a few council members. I did ask city manager Gilleland her thoughts on the protest outside and AJ’s part in it. Her response was “everyone is entitled to their opinions and they can voice those opinions anyway they want.” I actually had a good time last night. I spent some time chatting with the Chief of Police. I think he was a little surprised to learn just how deep my roots in this town. He and I did agree that section 8 is a major problem in this town, and until we get a handle on it will be hard to turn Middletown around.
Over all the night was pretty interesting, I will say that my personal opinion of the protest and of AJ is this….he could have picked a better time and place. The call of “Mulligan must go” was completely out of line. I was big supporter of AJ when he ran for council as many on this site were; it is now painfully clear that he does not have what is best for this city and the citizens in mind. It is all about him and his agenda. Just like every other council member. |

Randy - now that I see your picture I recognize that I saw you at the event last night. If I had known who you were, I would have introduced myself.
I agree that it was an interesting evening. I also agree that a sitting council person should not campaign against another, which is why I did not participate in any of that. I believe what you see in Mr. Smith seems symptomatic of not just every council member but virtually every elected official. It's all about them and what their special interest contributors want. Where did the idea go that elected office was about service to the community instead of a "job" to be done on behalf of those who own your election?

Randy Louuuuuu!..........I'll tell you what bud, I have never been as proud of you as I was seeing this picture of you shaking hands with a member of the high roller club! Yessir, it makes me prideful to see you mingle with the movers and shakers of this here town. You're "movin on up to the east side" like the Jeffersons.
Hermes.....I guess it will be different from here on out. Randy Sue has made the jump from fraternizing with us "regular guys" to hangin' with Ms. G. Guess we're just small potatoes to him now. Don't know about you Hermes, but I'm just hoping Randall Jane gives me a glancing smile next time I see him. Ahh, just remembering the times when he would give us the time of day. Note: This post was done to take a stab at humor and is in no way an attack on our web site overseer.(although it's not totally out of the question that it could be in the future if he keeps up these shenanigans) |

Randy, I will agree that AJ was out of line....wayyy out of line (no surprise though). But I will disagree with your comment that every other council member has a personal agenda. I think the darksiders, as many on here call them, really believe their agenda will be in the best interest of the city long-term, whereas AJ's shenanigins have nothing to do with what is or isn't best for the city, it is what is best for him, best for his resume, best for the unions, best for Obama, etc etc. I don't see any proof that what AJ does or says is geared toward the best for the city. I don't think he himself even makes such a claim.

Can't do it Hermes. If we get caught, he'll just turn us in to Gilleland ( or Ms Judy as Randy is now calling her), the swat team (with Leslie Landen leading the charge in black ninja garb) will show up at our doors, we'll get charged with criminal damage, big trial, major lawyer costs, have a criminal record, be imprisoned, and our reputation will be forever besmirched. I can live with all of these except the besmirched thing. With Randy Gail's newfound friend and the new circle of friends he has chosen to run with, I believe he could turn into a snitch at any given moment. Look out MUSA. Randy may turn rogue on us.
But then again, when they find out he is a Bengal fan, they may drop all charges against us and charge him with disorderly/ criminal conduct for subjecting his family (and newfound friends) to obscene behavior as they are made to watch the Bengals attempt to play football. |

Ok Vet, you have gone beyond the bounds of politics and insulted an NFL powerhouse for the punishment of its fans; I am one of those unfortunates!!! lol

Mentioning the Bengals and using the word powerhouse is a conflict in terms. Please substitute "three-ring circus" or "comedy central" for the word powerhouse when mentioning the Bengals for more accuracy.

Vet - the word powerhouse in this situation is correct because I am referring to the amount of punishment delivered per year multiplied by the number of years such punishment has been delivered. I actually think that qualifies the Bengals as a "dynasty"!!! rotf

Yeah, knock it off Hermes. You're too hard on those Bengals, too hard on Randy Sue and that Steelers idea is wayyyyy out of line.
I got your back Randy. You can trust me old pal. Still, in all honesty Randy Joe, you do look like you're giddy with delight while shaking Ms. Gilleland's hand. |

Bill - i read your post and agree with you about agendas on council. I would be more upset if these people didn't think that what they're proposing is in the best interest of the city. I'm hesitant to read motivations into anyone's actions; usually the actions speak for themselves. The idea that AJ is worried about what is best for Obama is laughable; the idea that elected officials do anything that is for the good of the country instead of good for their political party, campaign contributors and re-election is the truly laughable idea. The idea is no longer about service but a "job" to be done on behalf of the party and those who bankroll it.
