Does anyone plan on attending the "pre-meeting" before the normal city council meeting. I am not sure I can make it, but I would love to have someone record the happenings. It Will not be aired on TV Middletown. If anyone has plans on attending I would love to have you record the meeting, I will supply the camera. :)

Is the public invited to attend? I thought it was suppose to be information between council and Gilleland's motley crew designed not to share with the public???? Even if we are allowed to attend, do you think we could record the proceedings? Randy Sue, we don't want to go to Gilleland's jail recording with your camera........ or having the city law director "take us down" or another city thug like Kohler assault us... You know as well as I, they can be very vicious...

It was my understanding that this meeting is open to the public, and if it is (like I believe) then you can indeed record the meeting. But Vet , if you go to jail I would happily bail you out. After you declared your love for all things Bengal. Big%20smile

This might be a good time to remind City Hall that TVMiddletown is already set up to record and broadcast from Council chambers, and is scheduled to begin same at 5:30 on the first and third Tuesdays of every month.

Even more importantly, City Hall needs to be reminded that WE, The People, provide the bulk of TVMiddletown’s financing via a fee paid through our monthly Time Warner cable bill. They also need to be reminded that a fair sum of The People’s money has been expended to set up council chambers to accommodate the broadcast and taping by TVMiddletown.

City Hall MUST NOT prohibit the telecast of ANY portions (not prohibited by law) of The People’s council meetings by The People’s “public access” station!!!

If the city manager or any member of city council is afraid of, or embarrassed by, discussing The People’s business in the clear view of The People, then let them resign their positions immediately!!!

We really need to know who voted for/against these semi-secret meetings so that those who voted "FOR" can be held accountable should they ever have the gall to run for public office in the future.  We already have too many people in government who disagree with The People's RIGHT to know!!!

Now now Michael you really need to quit saying negative things about our City because Ms Judy has said it is her highest priority to improve the image of Middletown. It is evident that our leaders are only trying to protect our image and reputation from the prying eyes of others and therefore they need a nice dark meeting place behind closed doors to conduct the peoples business.
Don’t ya see that they are protecting us from all this complicated nasty number stuff that we peons can’t understand anyway?

MIDDLETOWN — How would Middletown’s police and fire departments use revenues from the public safety levy if the issue is placed back on the ballot?

That will be a main topic of discussion at the Middletown City Council meeting today beginning at 5:30 p.m. A presentation on the public safety levy will be held during council’s newly created work session — an untelevised hour-long informal meeting to be held monthly.

So now we are going to have meetings before meetings EVERY MONTH to discuss all these senitive issues that can't be discussed in front of the TV cameras?

An even better question would be: How did the city use the revenue from the current public safety levy???
