“You can only pay for what you can afford and we simply can’t afford it,” Becker said.

Thank You, Mr. Becker
I believe the new 2010 census will prove that the City of
Middletown
has gotten much smaller and much poorer over the past 10 years.
Therefore we need to start now to reduce the size of our government.

We can't keep kicking this can of worms down the road.

Do we need a new sound system in the Council Chamber?
Do we not do a sound check before the meetings?
I couldn't understand half of what was said last night.

Vivian, Becker has been alluding to this for months.  The problem is the rest of Council needs hearing aids as they just turn a deaf ear to what is said.

I also believe Middletown will find it's population has decline to between 45000-48000 and poverty will have skyrocketed.Thumbs%20Down

The audio has been deteriorating for the last several meetings. Last night was terrible.
The video has also gone south to a lesser extent.
Seems to me they lost the fiberoptic cable a while back.
Maybe a bad splice or something similar?

Could be a conspiracy!? Ouch

The city isn't going to fix or replace the audio & video in the "old" city building. When the "new" city building is built (over on the east side) it will be updated with all the latest sound and audio gadgets. Plus they might even install a few of those gigantic video screens like at ball games so then they can run video 24-7 all over the city. Wouldn't that be neat ? Wacko

Well I hope they can afford to keep are Firemen and Police on the streets to protect the citizens of this city! I will say thats where I want my last tax paying dollor to go to before being cut so someone can have a executive assistant or another study to have a study done on what to do with old down town!(as always just my 2 cents)
I hope it gets better soon!
