Are Middletown candidates allowed to place their signs at the City Building?

Well, if you can't place them on school property, why would you be allowed to put them on city property?

Interesting.

MadisonMom,
Good question. That is a public right-of-way. It must be that Jim Armbruster and the Fire Department get a special dispensation and are allowed to violate the law when they want to do that? Somone should have to answer for this. They must not have gotten the stern  letter from the city Manager that the rest of us got about not putting political signs in the right -of way. What about this Ms Gilliland. You can't deny the picture. What will you do about it?

Everyone,
I'd like for everyone to know that those signs were taken down by Ms. Gilliland herself
when she saw them coming back from lunch today. I don't think it gets more fair than that and I applaud our city manager for it.
Gary Barge emailed Ms. Gilliland about the signs and Ms. Gilliland emailed him right back and told him what she had done.
We wonder if the Firemen's union had a permit to put up those signs as the candidates had to have?  Will the firemen and Armbruster be penalized for a code violation? It seems to me that a union that has employees hired by the city has a conflict of interest and that it would be illegal for them to interfere with an election.

Hi Gary, I saw these when I returned from lunch today and I pulled them.  The signs are sitting in my office as we speak.   We cannot have political signs on city property.   I will be checking into who installed them.  Thanks, Judy
