2 computers stolen from school and a Crack Pipe

That Police Levy sure is making a difference

Nov. 2

A Middletown man, Neddy Brown, 34, of Grand Avenue, was found leaning on a fence post in the 2000 block of
Linden Avenue, and police discovered he had a warrant through the
Middletown Municipal Court and he was charged with two counts of drug abuse, one count of drug abuse/instruments and one count of drug paraphernalia/scales.

Two lawn chairs were broken and stacked near the front door of a residence in the 700 block of 15th Avenue. The resident said the same thing occurred to a neighbor.

A woman said her food stamp card, valued at $256, was stolen and sold for about $125. She suspects a friend of the family, and when the card was returned, there was $4.50 left.

Nov. 3

A Middletown woman said her wallet and $500 in cash were stolen out of her purse inside her home in the 0 block of Iglehart Street.

A 50-inch TV, valued at $2,000, and a 32-inch TV, valued at $500, were stolen from a residence in the 2900 block of Flemming Road.

When the Middletown Area Salvation Army, 4440 Marie Drive, was unloading a donation of clothing, workers discovered an unloaded .38 caliber revolver. Police said the weapon was rusted and inoperable.

Nov. 5

A purse, valued at $200, and a Sony camera, valued at $99, were stolen from a residence in the 2400 block of Grand Avenue.

Oct. 30

Two Apple computers, each valued at $1,100, were stolen from Wildwood Elementary School, 3300 Wildwood Road.

Nov. 3

A male pit bull, tied up in the back yard of a residence in the 1800 block of Columbia Avenue, was stolen. Three juveniles were seen walking a dog matching the description, a neighbor said.

Nov. 4

A Middletown woman, Amber Neff, was stopped by police near the intersection of Wilson Street and Woodlawn Avenue, and police found two crack pipes, one hypodermic needle, and crack cocaine in a gum wrapper.

She was charged with drug abuse/crack, possession of drug abuse instruments and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A woman who lives in the 2000 block of Howard Avenue said someone stole her $460 Social Security check.

Nov. 5

During a traffic stop, Tarri Nunamaker, 54, of Young Street, was found to be driving under suspension, and she had two warrants through
Middletown Municipal Court. When police inventoried her vehicle, they found a crack pipe.

When a Duke Energy employee tried to shut off the gas and electric at a home in the 2400 block of Sherman Avenue, he noticed the front door was open. He discovered that copper pipping was missing in the basement and upstairs.

While a person was eating at Long John Silver, 1304 S. Breiel Blvd., someone broke into their car and stole 19 medications. The person said their driver’s side door was locked.

A Franklin man, who had his tires rotated at Walmart, 2900 Towne Blvd., went behind the counter, grabbed his keys and left without paying his $10 bill. The store’s surveillance camera showed the man leaving the store.   

Vet, all those acts of crime above only reinforce why homes need to be protected with video surveillance.  First and foremost having security cameras are a great deterrent to crime. Second, there is no better way to catch and prosecute someone than having a video of the crime they committed.
