WHAT Finance Subcommittee meeting???

Imagine my surprise when I read The Journal’s on-line story this morning that the council’s Finance Subcommittee had met yesterday!
I am (or at least I thought I was) a member of this subcommittee, having been asked to be such by both Mr. Marconi and Ms. Scott-Jones.
I received absolutely NO NOTICE that there was to be a meeting, nor could I find any notice of this allegedly “public meeting” in our city‘s “newspaper of record”, The Middletown Journal.
Perhaps this was my “reward” for providing actual (true) reports, both here and (albeit briefly before it was yanked) on the Journal blogs, of other subcommittee meetings that I have attended.
What was that spiel again about their wanting input from the citizens???

	I thought the Finance Subcommittee was suppose to work in conjunction with the Street Repair Subcommittee????? One to discuss a street repair plan and the other to discuss how to pay for the street repair plan. The way Marconi and Scott-Jones presented it, they asked for volunteers from the Sunday Library group for the Street Repair Committee and the Finance Committee. If the street committee recommended an income tax levy to finance the streets, what did they need a finance committee for?This whole thing turned out to be a twisted mess as to functionality and a disaster for the average citizen on these committees. Never again- waste of time- ineptness at its best- no coordination of interaction between groups- decision already made before the first meeting.

	Just tried to watch the City Managers comments on TV Middletown for the second time and nothing but a blank screen......hmmmmmmmmmm.
