This is also TRUE for businesses. If a business would just pick up (not necessarily) their trash, sweep the sidewalk, clean their windows, put a NO SMOKING sign on their door (law), or pick the trash out of their landscaping and trim a few things, DownTown would look a lot better. I'm not talking about everyone.
I saw a business that had their landscaping mulched. But the trash was swept to the side and stayed there. Trash was not picked up out of the low to the ground shrubs. Really tacky. |

MadisonMom, I own a business in Middletown and a residence. I don't need the Blessing of Mort to walk out my front door of either my business or residence and pick up the trash, which I do often by the way. I am sorry but I find this to be nothing more than a poor publicity stunt on the part of Mort.
If anyone thinks this is going to pull the wool over Forbes' eyes, because Mort sends them a list with the names of residents who have picked up some trash, painted some fences, etc., all items which many of us do anyways, I have a city to sell you in SW Ohio. The Forbes article had absolutely nothing to do with any list of people cleaning up a block in Middletown.
But hey I hear Mort has added the I-75 project to her list, wonder if I can get my name on that line as overseeing its construction.
Mort is doing exactly what the Middletown Moving Forward CIC, battle plan for their candidates states, "Keep issues to a minimum". In other words, shhhhhh don't talk about Poverty, Section 8, Education, Income Levels. Lets all just pickup some trash instead and ignore the real issues.
FOLKS CLEAN UP YOUR YARDS, HELP YOUR NEIGHBORS IF THEY ARE IN NEED OF ASSISTANCE AND YOU DON'T NEED TO BE ON THE LIST TO BE A GOOD CITIZEN.
