   The budget for the Butler County Sheriff's office is increasing 5.65% over last year a total of $1.19M. The Sherriff's office takes the lyons share of the 2008 Budget submitted to the Butler County Commissioers for approval. 

Here are some key general funds budget increases from 2007 budget vs the 2008 budget:

Debt Service           $8.7M      $  9.7M      (11% Increase)
Prisoner Boarding  $7.65M     $  6.9M      (9.8% Decrease)

	Why is debt service increasing? It is the county's second largest buget expense and it is increasing the fastest.
