Armco Park has served as a playground for Armco employees and their families for decades. The County’s $4.4 million purchase of the 310-acre park was finalized on Tuesday, Sept. 23rd and was celebrated at the Area Progress Council Annual Dinner held at the Valley Vineyards. Contributors to the purchase of the park consist of the county government contributing $1.4 million and Turtlecreek Twp., the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, and Otterbein Retirement Communities each contributed $1 million.
Warren County Commissioner Pat South proudly announced the acquisition and she stated that it will be a great addition to the offerings of the Warren County Park System. Ms. South and her staff worked very closely to the project. The county is expected to gain control November 1st. However, the transfer of the Park for public use will not be completed until next spring.
Armco Park rests along Ohio 741 and offers many amenities, such as a baseball field, a golf course, a lake and shelters that soon will be available for the enjoyment of all. Warren County hopes that employees and their families of Armco/AK Steel will embrace the transition and welcome the community into the park.
If you have questions about the Park call the Warren County Park office at 513-695-1109.
