
MIDDLETOWN, OHIO----Jerry and Jacky Banks held a meeting of their “Wine & Beer Tasting” committee last month for their October fundraiser. They are candidates for this year’s Guest Conductor Auction to raise funds for the Middletown Symphony Orchestra. The event will be held on October 16 in the home of Dan and Frances Sack on Sycamore Terrace. The event starts at 6:30 pm and will include heavy appetizers, desserts, various wines and Anheuser-Busch products. There will also be opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for six baskets, $1,000 cash prize and a football signed by Marvin Lewis.
A complimentary shuttle service will be provided during the event and begins at 6:15 pm – 10 pm. Attendees will be picked up in on Central Avenue in the parking lots at the Highview Center #1, The Jug #2 or Highview Elementary School lot #3 for overflow parking.
This event will be held in the 1928 historic home of the Sack’s who have owned the home for 27 years. Mr. Thomas Shera, grandson of Mr. & Mrs. Carey Shera, who built the home, will be a guest at the event. The home has a stage in the lower level where area children put on plays for their family’s and had a pond located on the property that provided ice skating for many Middletown residents for more than 40+ years,

This year’s Middletown Symphony Orchestra’s Guest Conductor’s Auction Pops concert will be held on Saturday evening, November 20 at 8 pm at MUM Finkleman Auditorium. A ‘Big Band Celebration with Carmon DeLeon & the New Studio Big Band will perform during the second half of the concert. Cost is $25 per ticket and is open to the public.
