Team Fastrax, the Middletown, Ohio based skydiving team that performs annually at the MidUSA Balloon Challenge, was scheduled to perform a tribute jump over ground zero on the tenth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terriost attacks. However, due to security threats and increased security the team instead performed the jump over Hook Field. Hook Field is the airport located next to Smith Park in Middletown, Ohio.
The team jumped at 10:27 a.m. on September 11, 2011 so that they could deploy 10 American Flags at exactly the same time the second Trade Center Tower fell ten years earlier. One of the flags that Team Fastrax presented was 7,800 square feet, the largest flag of any type ever flown while skydiving.
