Seven New Members to Middletown Hall of Fame |

This past Sunday September 21, 2008 seven new members were inducted into the Middletown Athletic Hall of Fame. This was the 11th annual induction ceremony held at The Manchester Inn.
The seven new inductees included; Dan Colson, Roy Davidson, Paul Gates, Don Hackney, Sarah Lanham, Jim Lindsey and Mike Roe. They were inducted for their athletic achievements. The Ed "Skeeter" Payne Middie Spirt Award Recipient went to James "Pete" Snow.
Colson was a 1992 graduate and a four-year member and three-year letter winner of the football team. Both Davidson and Hackney brought Middletown the first-ever state doubles tennis championship in 1952. Gates graduated in 1956 also played tennis and won a Greater Ohio League doubles title with his partner Tom Wiley, and a district championship in 1956. Lanham was a standout soccer and track athlete in Middletown. Doing this she accomplished being a three-time state qualifier in the 100 and 300-meter hurdles and considered all-state as a junior and senior for hurdles. Lindsey was an All-Greater Ohio League and All-State second team in football his senior year. Roe, who graduated in 1977 a three year starter on the Middie baseball team. An All-Greater Miami conference first-team player in 1975, '76, and '77. And was also the All-American second team after his senior year and holds nine of 13 batting records at Middletown.
