On Saturday, November 21, 2009, Christ Methodist Church, located at 700 S. Marshall Rd., Middletown, Ohio will host a benefit concert for VH1’s Save the Music Foundation. The event will kick off at 7:00pm.The concert will feature the local bands, Toy District, Irela, Make This Your Summer and Slick Affection. The bands are made mostly made up of local students.
The benefit has been organized by Corie Minor as her Senior Exit Project and is set up for Senior High School students, the donation is $2.00 a person, and all proceeds will go to the Save the Music Foundation.
The VH1 Save the Music Foundation donates Money to schools across the USA in an effort to keep music in the schools. They have and continue to help hundreds of schools with instruments and other music items. The VH1 Save the Music Foundation was founded in 1997 as a public affairs initiative of the VH1 network.
The Foundation’s core mission is to restore instrumental music education programs, ensuring that every child has access to a complete education that includes the benefits of music instruction. The Foundation has proudly restored over 1,600 instrumental music programs in more than 100 cities nationwide, putting instruments into the hands of 1.2 million children.
