The almost century old amusement park (formerly known as Americana, opened on May 8, 1922) will not open for the 2004 season. The unofficial website (http://www.americanaamusementpark.com) has given this update.
There will be organizational meeting to help make the public aware of one of the best traditional parks left in the country. The park's future could possibly be in doubt.
First Meeting:
Date: Wednesday, June 9, 2004
Time: 7 P.M.
Place: 233 S. Main St. Monroe, OH
Monroe Government Center in the Community Room (lower level).
