Immediately following the resignation of Bob Youtsler, on January 1, 2004, Bob Routson was unanimously voted in as Mayor of Monroe by city council. Council voting included newly elected Lora Stillman, Bob Kelley and John Birch. Also voting were current council members Steve Tannreuther, Steve Campbell and Bob Routson.
Steve Campbell was voted in as Vice Mayor by all council members except Steve Tannreuther, who voted NO.
We wish the new council well, as they deal with the city budget issues including the likelihood of being put on either Fiscal Watch or Fiscal Emergency by the State of Ohio Auditors office.
