If you’re looking for a new place to have some lunch or dinner then there is a place you should check out. "Poppin Buttons" is one of Middletown's newest restaurants and they have something for everyone's taste. Located on the south side of town on the corner of Minnesota and 16 Street, Poppin Buttons is owned by Chad Shell and Melvin Williams.
The restaurant opened on Good Friday and has been doing a steady stream of business every since. When Chad was asked why this location for his eatery, he told me that when he was growing up in the area the closest place to go get something to eat were the fast food chains on Verity Parkway, and people are tired of the some old choices; and this area is not use to a sit down establishment.
With menu items ranging from homemade macaroni and cheese, chicken wings, hamburgers and fried fish to name a few. And if you are in the mood for something sweet then look no further than their funnel cake and deep fried twinkes made fresh upon order.
Poppin Buttons is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the weekends. They also deliver to all of Middletown for a reasonable price of $1 in the area and $2 for deliveries by the Towne Mall.
