The largest union at AK Steel in Middletown posted an informational picket line Monday. More than 100 workers are laid off while the company is showing a profit and the picketers want to know why.
AK Steel reported its third-quarter earnings, exceending second-quarter earnings of $92 million.
Union president Ed Shelley said the company wanted to cut labor costs through attrition, but about 110 people are sitting at home.
