The city and state are prepared to offer Pilot Chemical $1 million in incentives for investing in its Middletown plant that would bring 23 new jobs to the city.
On Monday the Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a 50 percent over six-year tax credit that will be worth around $182,000. This will be added to incentives offered by Middletown consisting of a 10-year 65 percent property tax abatement for a new building, and an eight-year 15 percent 'Job Creation Incentive Grant' worth around $20,000
In order to take advantage of these incentives, Pilot Chemical must decide to expand its headquarters in Sharonville as well as its Middletown location on Yankee Road. Both the state and the city still need to make the final decisions, and Middletown will make final considerations on April 3.
The company will be deciding next month on whether or not it will expand its Ohio base or its location in Houston.
