New Police Chief Homer starts May 10 |

Gregory Homer, 54, of Lebanon, will be the city’s new police chief. Formerly the police chief in Amelia, he will begin his job in Monroe on May 10. City Manager William Brock announced his hiring at Tuesday’s City Council meeting. Homer was selected from candidates that included Trenton Police Chief Rodney Hale and North College Hill Police Chief Paul Toth.
Homer was hired to replace Chief Howard, who retired after 42 years of service in various police departments. The salary range will be $55,000 to $80,000. Specific compensation was not divulged at the Council Meeting.
