New Middletown, Ohio Police Chief Gregory Schwarber
Thursday, January 10, 2008 4:30:53 PM - Middletown Ohio
by Bill Rogers

Former City Manager Steve Husemann found his successor over a month before his term ended in Judith A. Gilleland, but he made an agreement with her -- before he left office, he would choose the new Chief of Police. As his last act in office, he did just that. Maj. Gregory Schwarber was among two viable candidates for the position, and he was the one Husemann chose.

In this January 8, 2008 meeting of City Council, the first of the new year, Butler County Judge Noah Powers swears in Chief Schwarber. Before he does that, though, he offers a story of personal experience with the new Chief with those present. Discuss our new Police Chief Greg Schwarber on the MiddletownUSA Blog Forum.

Can you please look into a case that I don't feel should be closed. My name is Shannon and I live at 1725 Bonita Dr. in Middletown. My home was broken into November 2 and I feel like it is just routine for these homes to be invaded and nothing to be done. It took until Dec 13th to receive a phone call from the detective investigating to tell me the evidence I provided was not enough to prosecute. My labtop, video camera, all my personal videos of my children were taken and my jewelry were taken along with my front and back doors kicked in. I had Gps on my lab top was able to track it down to the person who received STOLEN PROPERTY. Her name is Lakeisha Webb and she resides in Dayton, Ohio. I have a picture of her on it and she also bought something with her credit card. I am very upset about how this investigation has been handled. I work hard to support myself and family and I attend school full time and use my computer 3-5 hours everyday for school. I would like to see some restitution to be paid or see that the legal system can at least do something for receiving stolen property. This neighborhood is ran down by drugs, and thieves. I am not satisfied with Lakeisha Webbs story she gave to the police. When she logged on MY COMPUTER my name would pop up along with my user email address. I want something to be done can you help? There has been over 10 houses broken into on my street. As for my family my children and I are planning to move due to the neighborhood CRIME. There has been homes broken into every year here. As a matter of fact this is the 3rd time my house has been broken into.
