New Bar-B-Q Junction Restaurant To Open On Roosevelt
Tuesday, January 29, 2008 10:25:39 AM - Middletown Ohio
by Bill Rogers

Middletown City Councilman David Schiavone, and two partners, Ron Decker and Michael S. Treadway have received a $50,000 loan from the Butler County Commission to put toward their stated goal of opening a Bar-B-Q Junction on Roosevelt Boulevard, in the former home of Damon's.

The loan will be used towards purchasing restaurant equipment. The project is expected to create about 20 jobs, and is expected to open in March. Discuss Bar-B-Q Junction on the MiddletownUSA Blog Forum. Review Bar-B-Q Junction at MiddletownReview.com.

I think it is great to see our former mayor personally involved in economic development.

Since Damon's left, that shopping center has needed a decent replacement. I hope they keep the same theme as Damon's.

Councilman Schiavone said the restaurant is going to have a steam engine theme.

If the mayor is unable to keep the Schivonne family's restaurant open, what makes you think he'll succeed with another?

Damon’s was a great restaurant; it was just in a bad location. Like the parking lot, the location has not gotten any better. Good luck.

I believe the Schiavone family restaurant was run by Dave's brother and didn't have anything to to with Dave.

I think it is great, how sad our family was when Damons closed, it was a fun place to go, and I hope the same for the new place, and I will definately try it out!!

Stopped in last night. The food was great, the decor was great, the waitress was great.

I'll be back for sure.

A+ I have Five visits under my belt, both lunch and dinner. Each one has been A+ with no hitches or excuses. Service has been prompt and friendly. The only problem is as people find out what a neat place we have it will become crowded. The music nights are starting to show some of the best of local talent.

My husband and I went to the restaurant with our children tonight and let me say Oh my Goodness! We ordered the baby back ribs for ourselves and I could not believe how good they were. I was unsure of ordering them at first because Middletown has not been known to have the best restaurants. Let me just say that I am so glad I took that chance. The ribs are dry rubbed and smoke with no wet sauce on it. So when you get them they will look different but the inside of the rib was so moist and once you dip it in the wet sauce (barbeque), your mouth will rejoice in a flavor explosion. We will definitely be regulars. Even our children loved the pulled pork sandwich from the children's menu. We just put some barbeque sauce on it and they ate it right up. We also met the owner and he was great! One more thing, the staff was so friendly we left a $10.00 tip because we were so pleased. Keep up the good work and I wish you plenty of years in Middletown, Ohio.
