On December 16th the Middletown City Council will hear an update on the process on the selection of a new administrator for the city’s Section 8 housing choice voucher program. Wayne Chapman a consultant will give the council an overview of the current process so far. There was one firm recommended last week to the council’s Housing Subcommittee by a review committee that was made up of city staff and three residents.
Out of the four firms that applied CGI Technologies was the preferred one. The current vendor is CONSOC they have been the administrator of the city’s Section 8 housing program for more than 13 years. CGI was the majority of the review committee’s opinion.
The City Manager Judy Gilleland will be reviewing the council’s report and be making a recommendation to council. The city’s contract will expire on February 8, 2009 with CONSOC.
They City Council will also be considering a contract that will be for the purchase of nine police cruisers for $208,800. It will be from Statewide Lincoln Ford Mercury of Van Wert, Ohio. Many of the cruisers are annually replaced due to the mileage exceeding, service and usage criteria.
Another consideration will be for an emergency resolution for supplemental appropriations for the general fund, parking fund and water fund. These are required appropriations in order for the city to close its books for the year.
The meeting for the Middletown City Council will be held on Tuesday, December 16th at 5:30.
