Monroe's SPUI
by John Beagle
Monroe ohio is getting a SPUI, a single-point urban interchange. It is similar in form to a diamond interchange but has the advantage of allowing opposing left turns to proceed simultaneously, by compressing the two intersections of a diamond into one single intersection over or under the free-flowing road.
Monroe's SPUI Interchange for I-75
This is a pdf.
Checked out the new lanes on the RT 63 bridge over I-75, you can get an idea of exactly how our SPUI will look. For further information see the attached PDF of our SPUI.
Note that the purple areas are currently in use and are planned to be removed after the new exits and entrances are open.
Also not the new traffic flow to Hustler, it looks like the BP station can stay, and the new road to the former Corridor 75 east end development. Much of the roadwork east of the intersection is complete.
