If you are looking for something for your kids to do this summer then the Todd Tennis Program may be what you need. Held at Sunset Park, the summer program is a six week long tennis instructional series provided to the youth of Middletown and the surrounding communities by the R.C. Todd Memorial Foundation. The program is open to boys and girls ages six to twelve. The summer program will teach your child all there is to know about the game of tennis.
R.C. Todd spent 47 years with Armco, beginning his career as an office boy and ending as the Vice President. Through the 1930's and 40's his leadership and enthusiasm launched a junior tennis program that ultimately put Middletown on the map as a breeding ground for champion junior tennis players.
Following his death in 1950 a Memorial fund was initiated to continue the energetic junior tennis program built by the late R. C. Todd. For over fifty years the Todd Fund has actively promoted tennis among area youth. This comprehensive program has served to help aspiring young tennis players from Middletown and surrounding communities. In 1982, the Todd program evolved into the Summer Parks Todd Tennis Program.
