Middletown is trying to get the company Pilot Chemical to expand its Middletown facility, as the company faces a decision on whether it should expand in Ohio or invest the same into expansion in Texas.
The city has proposed giving Pilot Chemical a 10-yea,r 65 percent tax abatement on a new building and an eight-year, 15 percent Job Creation Incentive Grant if Pilot Chemical chooses to expand its Middletown facility located at 3439 Yankee Road.
This expansion would require $42 million of investment in machinery, equipment and real estate and will supposedly result in 23 new jobs, which would increase the company's payroll by almost $1 million.
Council is set to vote on the legislation to authorize the tax incentives on April 3rd, presumably before Pilot Chemical makes its decision, also in April.
