
Over 200 special needs students to compete

The 2011 Middletown Special Olympics is scheduled for Friday, May 13 at Middletown High School track.
Over 200 athletes will participate in events including 50 & 100 M dash, motor activities, softball throw, long jump, wheelchair races, 25 M walk and relays.
Opening ceremonies will start at 9:30 with a parade of athletes, torch run and the singing of the National Anthem by one of the athletes.
Athletes from all elementary schools, middle schools and high school will compete for medals which will be awarded by local fire and police officers.
The Middletown Special Olympics Track and Field Day is full of fun, competition, and excitement for our athletes. Each athlete is a winner!
Local organizations, companies and individuals sponsor this one day event for our athletes and we truly appreciate their generosity.
