Mr. Diver discusses the Butler County School Supply Coalition made up of the Board of Butler County Commissioners, the Butler County Department of Job and Family Services, the Princeton Pike Church of God, Supports to Encourage Low-income Families, the Butler County United Way, the United Way of Oxford, Ohio and Vicinity and The Family Resource Center in Oxford. The coalition raises funds, purchases and distributes kits which include school supplies to Butler County school districts.Dr. Price discusses and reads 'One big Idea,' a Governor Strickland initiative involving parents, teachers, superintendents and concerned citizens. After viewing a video in Middletown last Tuesday, the group discussed and came up with the following, which Dr. Price read: "Ohio will develop schools with full service centers emphasizing accountability that foster health and wellness, cultural competency, parental involvement, continuing education, and intergenerational learning, thus preparing students for employment and using the schools as centers of community activity." President of Middletown School Board, Rev Gregory Tyus said, "It was an interesting evening. It was good to see allot of people out."
