Middletown Division of Fire
The City of Middletown is eligible for a million dollar grant! The federal Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant of $986,359 will fund six firefighter positions for two years. All costs are covered by the federal government. Local responsibility is to maintain the positions for the term of the grant (two years). The six positions will not completely replace the nine lost in last year’s budget reductions but they will improve daily staffing and thereby improve safety and quality of life for the first responder and the community.
