A local construction firm, Better Built Construction Services Inc, has recently been awarded an $11.6 million contract in order to design and build a dormitory for students who will be attending the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine, which plans to relocate to the Wright-Patterson area by September 2011. This same firm has been involved in the construction of the Lawrence Bishop Amphitheater & Statue which can be seen in the photo above.
The company will be building a 96-room, three-story dormitory which will house approximately 200 airmen fresh out of basic training and will be a part of the 711th Human Performance Wing. Construction is expected to start in about 6 months said Joe Munger, company director of operations.
Better Built Construct Services Inc. is a rather small personal owned business which has about 18 full time employees and more than $30 million in government contracts. The Wright-Patterson Air Force Base construction will be their largest project to date and is expected to bring more than 100 new construction jobs to the local economy.
