Is this nation ready for a black president?

Lesly Y Ford, 42 was elected to Middletown's 2nd ward unamiously with 1103 votes or 100% of the votes going to her.

Recently, Mark Niquette mentioned Ms. Ford in his article titled, "Ohio's convention delegates not sure how voters will react to Obama, race"

Mr. Niquette writes, "Delegates also are concerned about what could be perceived as Obama's inexperience or an agenda that's too liberal, but race by far was the top worry of those who responded to a mail survey by The Dispatch."

Delegates are concerned about white, middle-aged and older voters. Middletown Councilwoman, Leslie Ford said, "Quite honestly, we have to ask ourselves, 'Is this nation ready for a black president?' This election will be an interesting barometer of where we really stand, socially."
