The monthly meeting of the Middletown Aviation Club with their guests in the community and Civil Air Patrol heard Lieutenant Colonel Jack Meachum talk informally about his USAF career, notably the approximately 100 secret missions in Laos, Cambodia and Viet Nam. He is one of few who flew the Black Mariah helicopter, an amazing machine used on the rescue missions.
These secret missions had the pilots hovering just above ground, flying thru the trees and creating havoc for the opposing forces.
