A special needs student from Middletown High School recieved his Christmas wish this year with the help of Middie Magic. Matt Tyla who is the speech teacher had heard that Dustin Berry a 16 year-old sophmore had wanted a school jacket for Christmas.
Tyla had explained what was going on with Berry lettting him know that he had a great family and people around to help. He also told him he had learned what he wanted for Christmas. He had pulled a bag and told Berry to look inside.
They had put a couple different Middie t-shirts and hats in then at the bottom was his Middies jacket. Tyla says that Berry really has been a true blessing to have in class. After the presentation of getting his jacket he announced that he had wanted a jacket but they were not able to afford one. He also said he was surprised and really happy when he saw it.
He would talk about it everytime he would pass the school's Middie Shop saying that he wanted a jacket. Berry was a good example of a kid who knows what he can do. The people from the Middie Shop had no problem getting the jacket for him. They had understood the situation his family was in and just wanted to make his Christmas better.
