Today it is harder to send kids off to college with how expensive it has become. However one of the most affordable colleges around is right here in Ohio. Miami University ranks as the most affordable college in Ohio according to The Center for College Affordability and Productivity. The tuition at Miami is higher but with the ranking it considers many other factors that prove the affordability.
Miami University is now ranked 33rd most affordable public university in the country. They are also 277th out of 569 colleges nationwide which beat out other Ohio colleges like Ohio State University, Wittenberg University, Ohio University, University of Cincinnati, and the University of Dayton.
The ranking is mainly based on the student satisfaction and educational outcomes. There were five parts to the ranking. They were four-year graduation rates, enrollment-adjusted numbers of students and faculty receiving nationally competitive awards, average four-year accumulated student debt of those borrowing money, student evaluations of professors. The graduation rate at Miami is ranked 24th.
Miami provides financial assistance to their students through federal, state, and university grants. There are other ways to get money such as scholarships for academic excellence. There are about 57 percent of Miami students who receive financial assistance through scholarships, grants, loans, work-study employment and campus jobs.
Currently there are more than 4,000 college campuses that exist in the country. The CCAP only ranks the top 15 percent of all undergraduate institutions.
