Middletown Area Senior Citizens Inc. (MASC) will host its annual picnic August 23, from 4-7pm, at the senior center’s 3907 Central Avenue location; it is open to the public. The cost is $4 for the outdoor barbeque. Bring your own lawn chair and enjoy the musical entertainment of “Spittin’ Image.” (In the case of rain, the picnic will take place inside.)
Members of the public also will have an opportunity to meet Ann Munafo, the organization’s new executive director, who started her role the beginning of August. Munafo brings a wealth of experience in organizational leadership as well as regional senior services network knowledge and board service.
A registered nurse, receiving her degree from The Ohio State University, Munafo has more than twenty years’ experience in the Middletown area health care arena, including providing a variety of care options for senior populations.
Established in 1953, MASC is a charitable nonprofit organization with a mission to expand life options and promote the well being of Middletown area senior citizens. In addition to now having more than 1,500 members, the agency serves some 3,000 local home-bound seniors with in-home care, meals and transportation. It also provides an array of social services to need-based seniors and others in the community.
