Madison High School presents Christmas in a big way for the community. The Junior- Senior High School Thespian Troupe #4592 under the direction of Mr. Joel Brown gave four performances of Dickens Christmas Carol as the first offering to friends and families.
The cast and crew were freshmen to senior students with a few young children put in the mix to create a London atmosphere.
The students did a marvelous job of staying in character. The costumes were great with special effects here and there when a ghost was needed. A fun play for an appreciative audience.
The Band Director, Mr. Lenney, directed the Brass Ensemble in the pit to play Christmas carols before and after the performances.
The music got more difficult as the evening progressed from the Sixth Grade Band to the Junior High School Band and then to the Madison High School Concert Band.
We were all charmed by the warm enthusiasm of the students displaying their talents. Mr. Lenney certainly has their attention and interest as approximately twenty five percent of the student body participates in the music program. The students are obviously enjoying and practicing the music.
Act III of Madison Music will be presented Wednesday when the choral group has their concert.
The finale of the Christmas season concerts will be for the student body as they have the White Christmas Assembly on the last day before Christmas break.
