If you're driving down Roosevelt Blvd., in front of the Town Mall, you may notice the Lonestar Steakhouse is getting closer to opening. Back in August of 2008 Lonestar caught fire and has since been under construction.
The franchise chain employed just over 30 people before the fire. Today, the company operates 141 Lonestar restaurants. Started in 1992, Lonestar Steakhouse is owned by a Dallas-based private equity firm Lone Star Funds. The company also runs the Texas Land & Cattle Steak House chain, which has about 30 locations in Texas and five other states.
A call today to Lonestar Steakhouse went unanswered.
