LIGHT UP MIDDLETOWN RECEIVES MORE THAN CASH
The Light Up Middletown donation boxes at the front gate of the drive-through fantasy light display in Smith Park are the place where guests help maintain the displays through their donations. Most folks drop in a few dollars as they drive through the entrance tunnel. Light Up volunteers appreciate those donations very much. The donation boxes also tend to attract non-cash “donations”—some funny, some annoying, some unintended.
Generally, volunteers just gather up the “extra” donations and make a list for their own amusement and share useable items with area charities. This year, a few items seem to have been dropped in by mistake and the committee would like to return the unintended “gifts” to their rightful owners.
If anyone wishes to reclaim the ring deposited in the box this past weekend and can identify the style and date of its deposit, we’ll be glad to return it, said Florella Randall, chairperson of the event.
Another donation made earlier in the year was a military lapel pin. Anyone who can identify it will be able to claim that item as well. “If anyone else feels they have mis-deposited a donation of non-cash items, let us know, we’ll be glad to return lost items to their rightful owners,” said Randall.
To claim lost items, call 513-423-1877 any afternoon.
