LIGHT UP MIDDLETOWN OPEN ON HOLIDAYS
When most entertainment venues close for the holidays, Light Up Middletown sees large crowds driving through the animated light display at Smith Park in downtown Middletown.
Every night, 6-10 pm, regardless of weather, including all holidays, the lights will sparkle on Santa’s workshop, the tunnel of lights, diving penguins and many other themed displays.
According to Flo Randall, chairperson of the event, “Not only is Light Up Middletown open, it is very affordable – pay what you like. Admission is by donation. You set the price!”
As of Monday, 39,420 people have enjoyed the lights, including 24 bus tours.
The very snowy weather has postponed the annual balloon glow. With the predicted additional snow, it is doubtful that a glow will happen this year.
