What is Kind Call?
Kind Call is a daily phone check-in program for any Warren County resident.
How much does it cost?
Kind Call is a free service provided by the Warren County Sheriff's Office.
How does the Kind Call Program work?
Once you are enrolled in Kind Call, a computer will automatically call your home every day at a
predetermined time. If everything is okay, all you need to do is simply pick up the phone and press
one, then hang back up. You do not have to say anything. The computer will register that you have
answered your phone and no action will be taken.
What if I don't answer the phone?
If you don't answer the phone after three rings, the Kind Call computer will automatically call
someone you have designated to have a key to your house. This will usually be a nearby relative or
neighbor. That person will then be dispatched to check and make sure that you are okay.
What if I'm not going to be home?
If you know that you are not going to be home at the time of your Kind Call phone call, notify the
Warren County Sheriff's Office in advance at 513-695-1440.
Do programs like Kind Call really work?
Similar programs are already in place throughout the United States. In fact, one program in Ohio can
be attributed with saving the lives of three elderly residents. Two of the residents had fallen and
one suffered a diabetic seizure. In all three cases, the residents were not able to answer their daily
check-in phone call and help was automatically summoned.
