For the first time Ohio is starting early voting for the presidential election. It was held on September 30th and was a success. Many of the voters that went on Tuesday were happy that there were not long lines and they were able to get in and right back out. A lot of the local officials did there voting early this year including Richard K. Jones who is a Butler County Sheriff.
The voting has now been moved to 1802 Princeton Road, Hamilton where the voting is only allowed at the Butler County Board of Elections has become a focal point of political activity. There has also been more controversy over the new window that allows people to register and vote the same day until October 6th. It is going to give Obama and McCain a chance to bank thousands of first-time voters during that time from September 30th to October 6th.
In Hamilton, Middletown, and Oxford Sen. Barack Obama’s presidential campaign has vans lined up to take voters to the polls. The rides are free and normally take place on Wednesday evening and Saturday, when the Board of Elections has extended hours.
Sen. John McCain claims to have aggressive campaign aimed at registration and early voting, but his officials would not give any specifics about it.
