On March 3, the Health Department will be participating in the Regional functional exercise. This exercise includes the Southwest Ohio region, Northern Kentucky and 3 counties in Southeast Indiana. This exercise will be focused on the distribution of medications in an Anthrax attack to our closed PODs (points of distribution). The Health Department will be focusing on two of our closed PODs, our first responders (Police and Fire).

On March 4, the Health Department will be hosting the West Central and Southwest Ohio Public Health Commissioners for their quarterly regional meeting. Thanks to the Health Department for bringing visitors to town!

The Health Department holds monthly food safety classes for food service operators. Since March 2010 the Ohio Revised Code mandated a new Level One Certification for a “person in charge” who is knowledgeable in food safety, be present on each shift of operation. MCHD is the only health department in Butler County to offer the classes which are held the third Thursday of the month from 9am-12pm at the City Building. To date 116 participants have successfully completed the class. Look for certificates proudly displayed in food establishments around the city!
