Google Street view was launched on May 25, 2007. It provides 360 degree panoramic street-level views and allows users to view part of a city or the surrounding areas at ground level. When street view was first started it only included a few select cities. It has now expanded to many more cities including Middletown, Ohio.
Google Street view has covered the main roads of Middletown such as 122 and 73 which both run right through Middletown. Having Google Street view in Middletown will make it easier and more convenient to get directions and see where places are located. Some people say that it violates there privacy. For example when they are filming the road as they are driving you could be out in your yard and that would put you on the internet for everyone to see, and some people do not like that idea. Some people have suggested that Google make the faces of the people blurred so that their identity would not be revealed.
Google street view is quickly becoming used more often since it has spread over numerous cities. It gives its users a visual of where they are going to be going and gives them something to look for when they find their destination.
