Mark Shanahan, 58 will be speaking on Governor Strickland's proposal, "Building Ohio Jobs." Mark Shanahan is the Governor's energy adviser.
Building Ohio Jobs is designed to lay the
foundation for long-term economic prosperity in the state.
The Building Ohio Jobs plan specifically calls for: An investment of $400 million
in the Clean Ohio Fund. An investment of $400 million in the Public Works
Commission. An investment of $250 million in advanced energy. An
investment of $200 million in Main Street Renewal. An investment of $200
million in the biomedical industry. An investment of $150 million in
logistics and distribution infrastructure. An investment of $100 million
in bioproducts.
Mark Shanahan's visit is from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 28, to
Monroe's City Building, 233 S. Main St.

For nearly 20 years, Shanahan has headed the obscure but vital Ohio Air Quality
Development Authority, which helps businesses comply with environmental
regulations. He continues to lead the independent agency.
Former Activist and War Protester He earned degrees from the top colleges in Boston, Philadelphia and
Cleveland. While earning his degrees, he organized low-income residents, campaigned for plant-closing
notification legislation and protested American military policy. He
even questioned the safety of nuclear energy, which he considers acceptable.
